Business Management and Administration Pathway
"Administration Pathway"
Deirdre Butler

People with business skills are the ones who make the deals that build profitable companies that power the global economy. A career in business can take an individual to the CEO's corner office on the top floor of a skyscraper or around the world making million-dollar deals.

The business management, and administration industry is the highest paying, with nearly half of all jobs in management and professional occupations. For those who have always wanted to be their own boss, this is the cluster to consider.

Mrs. Butler teaches the main courses for the Administration pathway. The Administration industry has vast opportunities for employment including self-employment. The Administration pathway provides skills needed in Human Resources Management, Financial  Management, Records Management, Event Planning, and many other areas of business. There are two mandatory courses for the Administration pathway.  Students must complete Integrated Business Applications I and Administrative Support Technology.  Students will select one additional CATE course to complete the Administrative Pathway. The Administration Pathway includes the MOS certification which measures proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The Microsoft Office Specialist certification is required to be counted as a completer for the Administration pathway.  Having the skills that are tested in the MOS certification is a major benefit for every workplace setting and indicates proficiency in one or more Microsoft Office Applications.  Mrs. Butler highly recommends the  Administration pathway for anyone whose goal is to become successful in business.

The Administration Pathway is the right path to take. It leads to success.

"The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do."
