Aerospace & Drone Technology
This Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway engages students who are interested in learning the rules and regulations of American aviation. Students will complete a three-course pathway, the first of which prepares them to pass the Federal Aviation Administration's Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification exam, enabling them to earn an official drone piloting license to be used for commercial gain. Students 16 years of age and older are eligible to take the FAA examination after their first semester. The second course hones students' skills at utilizing drones for recreational, commercial, and even competitive purposes. The third and final course teaches design concepts of building drones, further guiding a pilot's understanding of building and maintaining their aircraft.
